That was a week

Well, what a week that was.
There was a birth, a birthday, brownie, new boots (sadly the b's end there); plus Shropshire, a new cocktail, a new Homin fic, marathoning a most excellent new US drama and indulging in my favourite Korean rom-com thanks to a gifted boxset.

The best part of the week was that our lovely Val gave birth to the most beautiful ( Read more... )

Congratulations on all the goodies and Happy Birthday to you and to the new babe and to the new Mom!!!!

Glad you got plenty of goodies that you enjoyed. I have to sit and watch either Paradise Ranch (of which I only caught bits and pieces when it was on) or Homeland (starring Damien Lewis who I have always wanted to lick. TMI?) But I want to see both.

But wait wait 2AM? Ugly? No NO NO..Jinwoon is never ugly. Jo Kwon is weirdly photogenic. Actually they all are but Jinwoon is never .... I am just saying, maybe you wanted a different opinion is all :)

Hey thank you so much for making it through my rambly post.

You should very much watch Homeland if you want to lick Damian Lewis - he's absolutely excellent in it. Paradise Ranch is just fabulous crack. Like most K-drama it's a series of completely ridiculous coincidences, but has the bonus of Changmin being arsey and grumpy and stroppy all the way through and taking his shirt off every third episode.

2am just don't hit my tastebuds. I would say that Jinwoon is certainly the best of a not-so-good lot, but they're not helped by the fact I'm not a fan of ballands. If they bopped around doing dance numbers in tight black trousers and mesh tops I might be able to change my mind... maybe ;)

That cracked me up. But of course you are right. Young dancing idols should be outfitted this way, otherwise really what is the purpose?
2AM though is actually quite talented, maybe not pretty like Lee Joon and crew, but very talented, all of them. Have you taken a look at the dance battles on Youtube? They are funny too. Also, I don't mind ballads. I love groups like Brown Eyed Soul, singers like Wheesung, etc...in addition to the pretty boys in see through shirts and tight pants because believe you me I like them, too.
Still to each their own.

I have to ask what is stroppy. I think I know but I have to ask.

I have wanted to lick Damien Lewis for a long while now. I was going to throw my husband over until I found out he was happily partnered with children. *snaps fingers* durnit. Did you see him in Life? I was very upset when they cancelled it after only one season.

How is the knitting going?

Life started pretty much the same day we moved back to NZ so we were in a TV and internet black hole. The only show we got to see regularly there that I've never seen in the UK was Amazing Race (probably because the host is Kiwi).

I should catch-up with it now as I loved the premise of it.

Stroppy is the act of acting like a toddler when you're an adult: belligerent, moody, unreasonable. In NZ we are also said to "throw a strop" when we have a tantrum. It's very envigorating and Changmin does it better than anyone I know - including myself (which is saying something)

Knitting is going ace. I just finished a fab winter cowl (just in time for summer) and a pair of socks last week but I'm waiting for a longer circular cable to arrive for the caridgan I'm knitting as it's in danger of slipping off the needles. It is also winter weight, which is how I can tell it's almost Spring!

Thanks Nancy - hope you and the twins are doing well and that all knees, ankles, backs and other joints aren't causing you and the tall guy any pain :)

For some reason, I didn't know it was your birthday. :(((( I would have sent chocolate!

I'm glad you had a lovely day, and your week sounds very exciting and squee-worthy. *big hugs*

Thanks love, but trust me I don't need chocolate (or German bread, if you have any lying around!!) - I had S's chocolate/coffee brownie and then yesterday I had sinfully good banoffee cheesecake from Sainsbury's of all places so I'm totally sweetened. (Plus I gave up chocolate for Lent and Easter is still a few weeks off)... *waits patiently*

Let me know if you fancy some more Cadbury treats. We can't have you going without *hugs*

Thank you for the lovely offer, but I'm currently trying (and failing) very hard to reduce my chocolate consumption. *g* The pill I was on until last month made me hungry virtually all the time and I put on some weight I'm trying to get rid of again...

Are you quite sure you don't want me to send you some bread? As it happens, I do have some to spare... ;p

For future reference - which day is your birthday? I'm quite sure I used to know it and have probably written it down somewhere, but for some reason it's not in my iPhone callendar. #fail

You are sweet (and thin, despite what you say) but just say the word when the chocolate amnesty is over and we'll drip-feed you one Cadbury nugget at a time.

Mine is March 8 (two days after little Adrian's)
