Dexter Continuity Question

Does anyone know if/when Dexter told Rita about his mother's death? This bugs me. I don't remember him doing so, but in a recent ep she tells the therapist of the murder happening in front of Dexter. This show generally handles continuity well enough I hope it's just my faulty memory. Help?

I believe it was Lila who let it "slip" when she was over Rita's for dinner. She was playing his sponser for NA and when Lila mentions "because of what happen to his mother in front of him..." Rita them demamded the truth.
