Bandwagon jumping? No way. (Introduction)

Aug 23, 2008 11:41

This morning there seems to be another new arrival, coming striding out of the woods holding a sword and looking fairly ticked off. He opens his mouth to say something, but the cry dies as he stares at the Mansion. Back at the woods, then at the Mansion again, an expression of "where the hell am I?" beginning to dawn on his face. The new arrival is ( Read more... )

"Celegorm."

She really, really hates that one. No forgiveness for this Feanorion - he has no millenias of regret, and no gaping chasm to atone for his sins.

Galadriel is trying not to scowl. It's not really working.

He turns and gives her a curt nod, distractedly. "Galadriel."

That one. He's not particularly fond of her either, if it helps.

She crosses her arms.

"You've come here straight from battle. Your brothers will be glad, no doubt."

Damn. Just when she had a sort of peace with Mae. Damn, damn, damn.

Hey! He just got dead. He hasn't had a chance to repent yet! Not that we guarantee he will.

"Yes." He almost adds, 'and where have you been?' but decides against it. Then he registers the rest of it. "They're here? For that matter, where is 'here?'" Eyes sharpening. He doesn't really like this.

More relatives, aslkhfd. We're getting almost resigned to it. Not even leaping to the conclusion that he's imaginary, or anything.

"--Celegorm?"

Oh good! Not assuming people are imaginary is always helpful.

Celegorm notices him in the same moment and turns to stride over to him. "Maglor. What is this" Explanation, please?

He's looking more closed-off than was probably usual back then, and also wearing really weird clothes. And shrugs. "Are you dead?"

....he has noticed that. He spares a moment for the clothes, then goes back to the more pressing things.

"What kind of a question is that?"

Well that was unexpected. Celebrimbor stares for a moment from the trees before stepping forward, uncertain how this particular uncle will react to his presence. After all the denouncing and everything. And when he clearly wasn't having a very good time before his arrival. "...Uncle?"

--what's that one doing here?

But it's still someone. "Celebrimbor," not quite curtly, still examining most of what can be seen. "What are you doing here?"

Because clearly one of them is supposed to be here. And it's not you, silly.

"I've been here for weeks," he answers, somewhat more hesitantly than Celegorm may have expected. He looks at the bloody sword again. "It's-- ...we're not in Doriath, or whereever you were."

He looks down at the sword, frowns, and sets the point to the ground. "Where are we, then?"

A little less curtly. Something's a little off here.

Also, have a very dead, very ex-best friend. "...When did you get here?"

A blink.

"You're dead!"

"Well spotted. Congratulations."

He does not look particularly happy with that development. 'So what are you doing looking alive' should be the next question.

"Why are you here?"

Now that he's coming to terms with the information, even the news of werewolves in the woods hasn't stopped him from his wanderings, though he sticks closer to the mansion now and goes armed. He's startled when he sees Celegorm and falls still, not calling out to him yet but not making any attempt to conceal his presence. His face is emotionless, jaw set, eyes slightly narrowed. He's not quite sure what exactly to think of the arrival of this particular cousin.

Celegorm stops upon seeing Finrod. Stares at him. He's not at all sure what to make of that. He decides against the obvious, though.

"Finrod." A touch warily.

"Tyelkormo." Not warily, not quite cold, but not friendly either. Finrod isn't pleased to see him.

Well, the feeling is...more or less mutual. Sorry, Finrod.

Silence, it ensues. What does one say to a cousinthing who, last time you checked, was quite dead and mostly that way because of you? We're fairly sure there isn't etiquette for this.
