*some time ago, Alexei began to learn magic from the gentleman with the thistle-down hair; he could coax the trees to blossom in winter, with only the warmth of his hands and of his heart, and keep them blooming. now, he thinks, he will ask the apple trees in the orchard to let their blossoms fall, and bear fruit that he might to give to the hungry ( Read more... )

Jess is quite hungry. She finds an apple sitting there, forgetting for a moment about the warnings she's heard about. Picking it up, she takes a bite and is suddenly a drop-dead-gorgeous, stop-dead-in-your-tracks beautiful princess.

"Oh!"

Spade finds the drop-dead-gorgeous princess of interest, and also vaguely familiar. "Hey, sweetheart. I'd say we've met somewhere, but I'd think I'd remember. Still..."

Jess feels different (sparklier, happier, perkier), but isn't entirely sure why,

Oh-- there's a crown on her head. She repeats, "Oh!" (And her voice is nice and ~musical!) "When I first arrived, yes?"

He looks at her critically now. "...you look something like... hm."

Mrs Strange takes an apple.

Not being very old, she hasn't much youth to restore-- but apparently youth enough, for she looks (imagine that) younger. Not a great deal, but enough.

For her part, Miss Woodhope has a strange feeling she has been here before.

Oh dear. Not again. "Mrs. Strange."

She continues looking about in some confusion rather as if she had not heard him at all.

"Ah. Erm. Miss Woodhope?"

Kvothe knows better than to eat anything left sitting on a table or otherwise in plain sight in the mansion, but while taking a walk he figures that an apple straight from the tree ought to be safe enough, and he doesn't think twice about taking a bite.

...Once again, 'oops.'

A young man, about fifteen or sixteen, tosses the apple from hand to hand as he looks around confusedly. He doesn't remember seeing a place like this before and the building through the trees doesn't look like anything at the University or in Imre, but as it looks like the best place to find out what's going on he starts towards it, eating the apple as he goes.

...this could be bad. Locke is wandering through the mansion, looking to see if someone has a rapier he can borrow - when he passes a tree and scoops up an apple, tosses it back and forth a moment, then takes a quick bite of it.

Thieves really should be careful about what they eat, especially lying thieves. Locke is usually honest, but now it's a requirement.

Honest thief, here's a pretty pretty princess. We suppose.

"Oh! Hello!" Beam, sparkle.

.....This is an eyebug. She's absolutely stunning. And because the typist is mean, this apple might have a twist on it, and...

"You look absolutely stunning, lady," almost awedly. That's unusual, for Locke.

Jess blinks prettily. And blushes. Prettily.

"...Er, thanks? I mean-- ah, really? I... I just... ate this apple. And I feel like I, like... should be twirling."

Apples are safe enough, right? They come from the trees, after all, even if they are horribly out of season.

She takes an apple, eats it, and promptly falls to sleep. This may present a problem. Fairy tale princesses tend to be a bit more clear-cut about the whole "true love" thing.

Cal is emo. So, he goes looking for Molly.

And finds her asleep under a tree. "....Molly?" he calls carefully from a distance, not wanting to wake her up.

T: Don't mind me. >.<

She doesn't stir, though her chest rises regularly, and she seems to be peaceful enough.

He moves a few steps closer and then notices her face. She looks so peaceful. He decides not to try to wake her and sits down as quietly as he can, feeling weird for just wanting to sit and watch someone who looks as happy as Molly does sleep. It makes him feel better.
