Yes people, it is nearing Canadian Thanksgiving, a time of extreme nostalgia for me and my family.  Canadian Thanksgiving means that the kind of nice weather of "patio" season will soon be gone, and the crummy, horrible sucky weather of "craptastic fucking winter" will soon take its place.

The Clapper would trigger if you crumbled paper grocery bags. Putting the canned goods away in grandma's pantry down in the basement was so much fun. She should have just installed a strobe light.

The 80s ended when I was four, so I don't remember most of this. Except velcro sneakers. I wore zoo shoes as a kid, which had an animal face which had velcro on the back and peeled down when you wanted to take your shoes off. when I stopped wearing them and got regular white sneakers in third grade everyone was like "OMG (name) GOT NEW SHOES!" I didn't understand what they were so excited about.

Heh, the eighties ended when I was three but I remember all of this except for Jem and the Holograms. God, I loved those bracelets. I especially liked the one that I covered with duct tape and metal loops. It was awesome.

And you were better than me with the Skip It. That thing knocked me in the ankle on every third turn, and it died when I attacked it with my uncle's hammer when he left the tool box out one day.
