There were fireworks at 9.15 pm scheduled on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of July at the Gateway Arch. We went on the 2nd....on the 3rd, rain resulted in the fireworks being cancelled, and on the 4th, we looked up at the sky at the fireworks everyone around us was letting off (private fireworks are permitted on the 4th of July.)...and enjoyed the flowers ( Read more... )

As we returned from the Taming of the Shrew, we were crossing the usual Fire Station (E30, that I have written about

here and I saw that the fire engine was missing. I wondered where the fire was, that it had gone to put out, and KM was bantering, saying that even when they went out for a snack, the firefighters had to take their fire engine ( Read more... )

Having had one of the most gut-wrenching days of our lives yesterday, we decided to go to the St Louis temple today, and we spent a quiet time there. When most of the devotees had left, the temple was deserted; I sang a few songs, and the priest blessed me as being "golden-voiced", which I took with none of my usual gladness...the singing comforted ( Read more... )
