This morning, Shreeram and I went with John Callaghan, who's visiting from Milton Keynes, UK, to Ragihalli. Unfortunately, we had a very late start and that meant that sightings were quite low....but we still managed quite an interesting time!

That first picture, of the pied bushchat on the barbed wire, is really beautiful--there's something about the contrast between the bird (soft, alive) and the wire (hard, sharp).

That's funny, because most wildlife photographers do NOT like taking photographs of birds on such perches, and want only twigs and ground! But as I said, Bird On the Wire doesn't faze me!

I like the idea you've mentioned....hadn't occurred to me.

The blue-bearded bee eater is a lovely bird! And the little brown shrike is just sweet.

That is quite a collection of birds for the outing Deepa.
