Counting Down...

Well, I got virtually zero sleep Sunday night, thanks to The Grudge, but luckily last night made up for it with me sleeping like a rock. Also, I got alot of reading in The Canterbury Tales on my sleepless night...both The Knight's Tale and The Miller's Tale, and I've read The Reeve's Prologue too. Depends on the person. A couple of people have said it's not scary at all, and from what I'm hearing there's a general agreement that it's less scary than The Ring (I wouldn't know, since I didn't see that one).
The problem is that I'm an easily scared person...the preview for The Grudge had me cowering in the theatre when I went to see RE:Apocolypse. It also doesn't help that I have a very overactive imagination: Stephen King's IT didn't really scare me, for example, but I still had a hard time falling asleep that night.
The thing about The Grudge is that it's not as "formulaic" as the typical American horror flick. There are things you expect to see in a Freddy Kreuger movie, so you're not as scared when they happpen. The Grudge kept catching me off guard...you'd know when something bad was about to happen, but you never really knew what.
All I can say is, don't see this one alone, and don't see it unless you don't mind being at least a little scared. It also might be recommendable to go see it when you know you're not going to be ( ... )
