Congrats!:D

Lovely pics, and report. ♥

our resident Hungarian pretty boy Dániel Tőzsér
Haha. Do you believe that he was always considered as pretty useless when in Hungary? People's mind are boggled at how can he play good at AEK and being completely invisible at Ferencváros... XD

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment :) (and thanks for the congrats too, yay! *is still excited*)

I actually thought of you as I was writing about Tőzsér, but I wasn't really sure if he was that famous in Hungary (other than the whole "Hungarian David Beckham" thing. Which may or may not be true, you know how the media likes to attach labels on new players. I mean, this season we've also had the Austrian David Beckham arrive to Greece.). We're susprised he seems to be playing so well too, although to be fair sometimes he appears to be a bit out of his depth. It's OK, he's still young (I'm so objective, really).

Thanks again for the comment :D (the Riise icons are coming along nicely, by the way. Next week will be a bit hectic since I'm starting my postgrad degree), but I think I'll finish and post them somewhere around the next weekend. I love him. Ahem.).

Haha, you are welcome! A well deserved victory, may I add. (Only seen the summary of the game, but every victory against the cheater tifosis are well deserved ones in my book :)

Yeah, he is young. But already had time to flop in Turkey, than come back to Hungary and now Greece. I'm rooting for him, because he's a Hungarian after all, so hopefully he'll evolve into a great player there. ;)

Yay, can't wait. I have one space for an icon. I'm sparing it for a Riise one. :D ♥

Very very well said :D

Daniel has shown some promise, he's a bit to delicate a player but we have a fantastic coach and I think that will do him good. And I know what you mean, there are quite a few Greek players playing in other leagues and it's always nice to see people from your country do well.

And, wow, I really hope you'll find something you like in my batch of icons. I'll try to kick it up a notch just for you :) Something more abstract? More poetic? I'll figure it out (my source material is gorgeous, so I think I'll manage, heh).

Hi!
I just found this (trough jensdefense I think) and need to say: lovely picspam. I always like it, when the small team beats the big one. And in every word one feels the love and pride you have for your team. Something I can relate to, my hometeam is rising to new greatness one the way back to Liga 1 and finally for the first time in 7 years (!) playing good football.

Hello! :)

Sorry it took me so long to reply, this week was (and still is, gah) pretty hectic.

Thank you very much not just for commenting but for saying what you said. I really appreciate your comment, especially since it's coming from a fellow fan of a small yet great team (what is your hometeam, by the way?).

And I know how you feel about those 7 years. AEK went through a similar bad patch for about 6 years, and while we've always finished second or third we haven't won the championship in 13 years. But it gets better, and I'm glad to hear your team is, indeed, on the way up (step by step, success will come. Especially when the team has supporting fans who don't care which division they're playing in, they just show their love.).

Thanks again and may your team play in Liga 1 next season :D

:) (I'm sorry for the late reply again, I'm just dead tired and my brain isn't fully functional at the moment o_O )

I've heard of Karlsruhe and I do have a vague recollection of your UEFA Cup runs in the early 90's (AEK was playing in the UEFA Cup at the time as well). I checked Wikipedia and, wow, when you said Bayern bought 4 or 5 of your players you weren't kidding. And great players too: I've always thought Scholl was brilliant and I actually remember Nowotny and Fink from before they were at Bayern (so I probably first saw them playing for KSC). There's nothing I hate more than that. The same thing happened to AEK, except Olympiakos (the Bayern of Greece. Only worse.) bought our coach (who had been an AEK legend, had played for AEK for about 15 years and had just won us 3 consecutive championships) along with 4 of our best players. We haven't won a championship since.

Now they have a young team, that plays beautiful football, and is at first place of the 2.Liga and hasn't lost one game! Things look good for the 1.Liga next year ( ... )
