This is really beautiful--I love what you've done with the concept of home here. *sighs*

What a lovely gift! Happy Birthday, sln1!

I really wanted to explore that concept, I think that every character in the show was searching for home, but so few actually found it. Adama and Roslin were one of the lucky ones, to have found home in each other. :)

Thanks for reading. :D

My brain was scrambling for a moment, wondering if this was going to be about burying precious gifts (Bill, hill, Laura.. it was a parallel my brain could accept).

Glad this was a sweeter of the bittersweet stories.

I really like the idea of her being the one to draw up the cabin. It sorta bounces around in fic.

To be honest, I purposely did not say what it was that she had drawn. She could have drawn the cabin, she could have drawn a portrait of Bill, she could have drawn a great deal of things that symbolized her home. I've decided to leave the interpretation up to readers. :)

Thanks for reading. :D

What a lovely look at how Laura's idea of "home" evolves, gets destroyed and rebuilt, and that she does this with Billy's last gift--gah. Wonderful, in the details and in the beautiful theme.

I'm glad you enjoyed my exploration of "home" and what it meant to Laura. :) It's something that is often explored in fics, but one that I just can't get enough of.

Thanks for reading. :D

Home is people! What a beautiful concept to explore in the way you did here.

It was about time...I'm ready.

I just love how well they are communicating in this story. There's some honest truth-telling going on here, and it's lovely. :D

And I love how Billy was in this. It gave the story such a meandering feel through time and place.

I'm humbled that you liked that concept. :D I truly believe that we make our home in the hearts of our loved ones. :)

It seemed right that Billy should be here, he was the person to witness their first kiss, after all.

Thanks for reading! :D

This is really fabulous. I really love the theme of home, and what/where/who that might mean. And this, oh my heart:

“I know where I am going to settle,” he said as they parted. “Where I’m going to build my home, when the time is right.”

A lovely gift for sln1 - happy birthday. :)

So glad that you enjoyed that theme throughout. It's one of my favourite themes to explore in AR fics.

Thanks for reading. :D
