Summary: Ville and Bam go to school together. They're not friends. They don't even know each other. But when they get roped into the boys' school production of Romeo and Juliet, sparks fly!
The rest of the day passed for him in a haze. He was clouded by the desire he had felt in that dream to taste those lips, by the way he wanted it so very badly. While sitting in English, he tried to rationalize it.
“Of course I’d think of Ville,” he thought to himself. “How often to I really get to see Violet? And they look so similar. It just seems like its natural. Yes. Natural. That’s clearly what it is. And didn’t they tell us in sex Ed that sometimes you have a dream about a guy, it doesn’t make you gay.”
Bam was soothed with this line of thinking. He felt his feathers smoothing, and seemed to be able to relax into his day. He managed to look alive during math class.
There was no drama club meeting after school, so Bam snagged his skateboard and headed out. The others were already there, talking, laughing, and skating around. The scene was so calming that he almost didn’t notice the figure sitting on the grass. The figure that stood up as soon as he was spotted.
Almost.
Seeing Ville just then was like getting punched in the gut. Bam sucked in his breath and put on a smile. He wasn’t angry, or hurt, or even really scared. For some reason… he was excited.
“Ville!” He shouted as the long legged boy bounded towards him. He was wearing an airy smile, and were his eyes glittering?
Violet’s glittered like that.
“Bam, hi. You offered to teach me how to skateboard. If you don’t want to today, that’s fine. I was just hoping that maybe I could watch you anyway…?” the tall boy trailed off, blushing.
It was really adorable.
“Of course,” Bam cut in smoothly. He put his board on the ground, between the two of them. He held out both of his hands. Ville stared at them for a beat before cautiously climbing onto the thing.
He clutched onto the younger boy, desperate for anything that would help him balance. It only took him a few seconds until he was steady, but Bam found that he didn’t want to let go.
He wanted to keep holding on. In fact, his grip tightened on the slender hands. Bam told himself that it would be easy to play this off as something he had to do. It would never do to let the boy fall, would it? Yes, of course, hand holding was a necessity, not just something he wanted.
Even in his head, it didn’t sound quite right.
Throughout the next hour, Bam talked Ville through the very basics. Standing, moving, how to old your arms out. It wasn’t rocket science, and of course the Finnish boy caught on rather quickly.
“You’re good,” Bam said approvingly when the darkness drove them in. His hands ached, and he longed to reach over and twine his fingers through Ville’s. He didn’t though. He wasn’t sure how Ville would react, and of course it would be unfaithful to Violet.
It struck him as strange, how he was already thinking in terms of being faithful to her. It already felt like he’d betrayed her, just by having that dream, just by wanting to feel Ville’s touch so badly.
“I try,” Ville flashed him a dazzling smile, and Bam felt dizzy. They parted in the hallway and drifted towards their dorm rooms. Both of the boys had a lot of thinking to do.
