Summary: Ville and Bam go to school together. They're not friends. They don't even know each other. But when they both get roped into the boys' school production of Romeo and Juliet, sparks fly!
That kiss made his head spin. Bam’s hand reached up to cup the back of her head, fingers tangling in her hair. Oh God, her hair! It was so soft and silky. Every other girl seemed to dip her head into a bottle of hair spray.
Her lips, pink and sweet, parted against Bam’s. So of course he followed suit and opened his mouth too. They music thrummed and throbbed, poured around them. Her fingers were on his neck, digging into his flesh, but he didn’t care.
Her tongue poked gently into his mouth, and he gasped out loud. She tasted like strawberries and cream, and maybe just a touch of bubble gum, but he thought that might have been her lip gloss.
His tongue met hers, silk against silk. Violet tilted her head for them to go in deeper. His nails pressed into her scalp, wanting to pull her in closer and closer. Finally, they had to come back up for air.
“You… Kiss good.” He shouted. She blushed and looked above his shoulder back out onto the dance floor.
Wordlessly, her fingers laced through his. Violet pulled him back onto the dance floor, and their bodies began to move and pulse in time with one another. The strobe lights flashed, and the speakers thumped with the beat.
None of it mattered. If the room had been silent, and she wanted to dance, he would have followed. He knew in that moment that he would have done anything she asked of him.
It was getting late, and Bam knew he didn’t have much time until Lotus came to find him. Frantically, he reached into his pockets. Of course, of course, he’d forgotten a pen. And though she was wearing eyeliner, he didn’t see a purse or pockets for her to have kept it in.
“BAM!” there it was. Lotus’s voice. “COME ON!”
“BUT---!” he looked helplessly at the girl. She smiled sympathetically and bent to kiss his cheek. In the next breath, Violet had been swallowed up by the crowd. Bam felt his heart stop for a moment as Lotus grabbed his arm and began to pull him out.

That night, as Bam laid down on Lotus’s couch, he felt his heart trembling in his chest. He sighed and ruffled his hair as he tried to find a comfortable position on the pillow. The house was quiet. The girls had gone to bed, but he knew there was no sleep for him in that night.
“I’ll talk to your brother, Violet.” He said quietly into the silent living room. “I’ll see you again, I promise.”

Ville was sitting with Burton, an old movie flickering in black and white across the TV screen. The boy had removed his make up, wiped the lip gloss from his mouth, and taken the shoes off his feet. He was wearing plaid sleep pants and an old t-shirt.
“So did you have fun tonight?” Burton asked, munching on a piece of popcorn.
“You have no idea.”
