Bam Margera waited, shifting his weight from foot to foot. He hiked his duffle bag higher onto his shoulder. God, where was she? This was just like her, he thought bitterly. To make him wait out here for hours, when it was starting to get cold and everything.
Before he could really start the internal bitchalogue (the term he came up with for a bitching monologue), a car rolled up.
“Hey baby. Looking for a good time?” a girl poked her head out the window.
“Depends on how much money you’ve got. I cost at least three hundred.”
“Oh whatever! You’d do it for a half eaten candy bar and a ride to the skate park.” The girl in the car scoffed.
“I would not!” Bam disagreed indignantly as he climbed into the passenger side, chucking his bag into the back.
“I’d need a whole candy bar.”
“Either way,” the girl smirked as she put the car into drive. Bam regarded her for a few seconds thoughtfully.
“Your lip looks nice.”
“Thanks!” she preened, showing off the snakebites.
“How long you gonna keep those streaks in?” he reached over to lift her hair, black with pink streaks. She shrugged.
“Until I get tired of them.”
“That would be never. You keep stuff around forever.” He bent forward to play with her radio. She slapped his hands away.
“Yeah, I’m still friends with you, aren’t I?”
“Shut up Lotus.”
“Looove yooou.” She sing songed. Bam made a face.
“I’m sure.” The drove in silence through the town. The school sat just on the outskirts of it. Lotus glanced at her friend.
“I’m hoping you didn’t expect to spend the night playing video games and eating pizza. We’re going out.”
“Oh WHY?” he whined.
“Because Helen wants to.” The way she said it left no room for argument in her mind. Bam begged to differ.
“So you and Helen can go. I’ll stay home! Say, that’s a good idea, isn’t it?”
“No,” she snorted. “You’re going to set the place on fire, and then I’ll never get my security deposit back.”
“How would I set the place on fire?” he demanded.
“Because you’re an idiot. I love you, but you do really dumb stuff.”
“Like when?” she looked at him, her blue eyes glowing with a ‘Do you REALLY want me to answer that?’ sort of look. He scowled and slumped back into the seat.
“When does Helen get into town?”
