Around Xmastime my supermarket (and many others in town) have a trolley or a huge box for donations of pet food which they then give to various animal shelters. It's traditional over here. Shame they don't do it all year round.

^__^ I'm going to encourage the food banks around here to see if they can start getting donations of pet food and pet supplies. Some people can't seem to find anyone to foster their animals when they are down on their luck, and it sucks seeing them have to choose who gets fed between themselves and the pets. I also hate when I see people mixing human food from the food banks with their pet food to make more of it. It's not healthy in the longterm for the animals.
