... There's Good News, And There's Bad News

Well I felt that when I read of James proposed trip to England - I was so happy to hear there were plans, even though I have literally no money.  Having been self-employed all my life means I payed less tax ... which now means I only get a basic "living" wage.  Not that I can moan - but hearing news like ( Read more... )

money, james

It's a long time till May, you may well be working again before that.

Have a look for a second hand fridge, best one I ever had cost me £5.

Hadn't thought about that - now I have to think where I could find them in Bude!

Yes, May is a long way away - but it means I can put a few pennies aside each week, just in case I'm still looking!

Aw, sorry about your fridge, though Deb's idea of looking secondhand is a good one. We've a Heart Foundation shop in Northampton that specialises in just electrical goods, maybe there's one in your area. Or check the small ads in the local paper - or Freecycle on Yahoo groups.

I'm not going to the Hub either (despite the fact that it's right on my doorstep) as conventions aren't my thing. A gig, that's what I want. Hopefully by next May you'll have a steady income again.

I checked out Deb's idea - but it was no good ... nothing local, and even the local shop (which was more expensive then an-line) was charging to dispose of the fridge - even though I said I could get that free, the same brand cheeper ... so I ended up buying a new one!

Yes, I'm a James fan - not a convention fan ... so have to see what else is announced.

Oh noes the fridge!! Just read you bought a new one. Hope it didn't cost too much!

I'm so glad my mum agreed to me leaving the kids with her for 4 days the same week we arrived in France so I could go to London see James last year!! Because I'm pretty sure that was my only chance to see him ever.

They (people) just don't come to NZ!!

*hugs*

Any amount seemed too much today! Still, you can't really live without one ... well, I suppose that's a lie, but I buy food when cheap and put in the freezer, so that is good.

I'm glad you got to see and hear James - even if we didn't get to meet! He has just such a gorgeous personality at a gig, doesn't he?

At last you're in the same state and you don't have to travel far, hopefully.
I'm crossing my fingers that my dishwasher is okay, I've found water in front of it last time I used it. Could be or could be not from the dishwasher. Annoying when things break. *sigh*

I've read now you've got a new fridge; a second hand one sounded like a good solution for the meantime. Having a new one you'll have warranty, that's good.

Hope the dishwasher is surviving ... we get so reliant on these things, don't we? I couldn't cope without tea - so need milk ... and need my fridge!

Yes, I wait to hear about James - won't do the con ... but hope he is good to us fans, as he has been in the past.

It has always suprised me he doesn't do events in Germany ... having a German lady-love.

Yeah I wouldn't mind a concert in Germany too.
I've just read that GotR broke up in 2004 and before that was a concert in Germany (near Cologne I think). Nothing since then.
Makes things easier if you don't have too far to travel.

Yes, I think it was at that concert he met Patricia (don't know where in Germany she comes from though)
