I am not great at remembering poetry, and love a lot of the War Poetry that was written during the first world war.  I have posted some of the more well-known in the past, so here is one written by Vera Britten, when her fiance was killed in action -

It was something I first read at college, when I read "Testament of Youth" and the sequal ... and it is just so moving.

Beautiful and so sad. I've read both 'Testament of Youth' and 'Testament of Experience' (after watching Testament of Youth on TV years ago - one of my favourite programmes ever), and they are books I'll never get rid of.
