Hermione: No doubt he’s mourning the loss of the one master who treated him well. We know Sirius didn’t. After all, with his simple mind there’s no way he could appreciate such concepts as morality or good and evil. All he cares about is getting treated well,

So, when Kreacher calls her “Mudblood,” Hermione will insist that it’s not his fault and it’s all because he’s just emulating his racist owners who were kind to him. But when Draco calls Hermione a Mudblood, that’s his fault and he gets no pity from her, at least not when Harry’s around.
/All he cares about is getting treated well, whether that’s by Regulus or the Malfoys/
Basically, Hermione’s arguing that Kreacher’s mind is at the level of a small child. And she’s the only one who’s advocating for elf rights.
