Harry: Oh, I see you don’t sparkle. Thank goodness for that.
Mr. Sanguini: [Facepalm] Would everyone just stop saying that?! Of course I don’t sparkle! Why on earth anyone would think I sparkle I have no idea!

Years ago I saw a meme stating that Voldemort's most henious crime was that he killed Cedric with a non-mutilating spell and didn't dispose of the body, which leads to..."You'e my own brand of heroin~~"
Sanguini is the only vampire that we ever see in the HP books, right? So, was there a point for him to be there? It’s not as if he has an impact on the story or anything.
I think it's a checklist thing. That is, Rowling had a list of "fantasy staples" that she felt she had to include, however briefly. Like that subplot with the giants that never goes anywhere. She had werewolves, ghosts, and other horror characters, so she had to shoehorn a vampire in there, too.
I wonder if anybody's written a Cormac/Lavender fanfic where the two eventually do realize that they were played.
That would be great, especially if they then collaborate to get revenge on Ron and Hermione.
