Cohdopian Notes #8

Jun 29, 2010 23:25

I've been wondering if I should post less personal information online. I was advised in the past that that would be more prudent, as I am a public figure. I previously had someone else to manage my internet affairs. I suppose most other ambassadors I know don't write a great deal about their personal lives in their blogs, if they do maintain ( Read more... )

Now, Kick-the-orange sounds like my kind of game! Even better, I bet the winner gets to eat the orange, huh?

Makes me want to invent a game of my own. How does Kick-the-apple or Kick-the-watermelon sound?

Yes! Traditionally the winner wins the orange, although... the orange is usually rather dirty at that point. But I suppose oranges are better protected from dirt than other fruit, considering their thick rinds.

I have seen the game played with apples before, but never watermelons. Not that I mean to criticize your idea, Detective Gumshoe, but that sounds like it might be rather difficult!

Well if you find a nice round one it could work! Kinda like kicking around a super hard soccer ball. No wonder I get hungry whenever I see people play soccer. Those balls remind me of watermelons so much!

I... see.

I don't know about that, Detective. Soccer balls and watermelons are quite different, so I don't think kicking a watermelon would be similar.

Though I've never tried it, so I can't say for sure.

I see you've finally got your online store up and running! What a wonderful idea for the embassy. I'm so glad to see it finally materialized. I, myself, have found much success in that particular field as well, selling the suitcases I designed.

If the offer still stands, I'm still very much interested in that design job you mentioned before!

I'm so glad you like the idea, Ms. Teneiro! Thank you very much for all your support of this endeavor. I do hope your own sales continue to be strong. Do you only sell suitcases, or are you planning to diversify?

And yes, I'd be delighted to have the honor of employing you as a designer. I so look forward to seeing what you'll come up with.

I haven't sold anything online since putting those remaining suitcases up for purchase. I was so surprised at how fast they went!

I aim to not disappoint you, Mr. Ambassador. I look forward to collaborating with you once again!

I see. Perhaps you could start your own line of products and sell them online, if the suitcases were that successful? Online stores have very low overhead.

I look forward to it as well. We don't have any colorful designs now, but I am certain you'll be able to make up for that lack. We received a lot of feedback on the coupon you designed! People were quick to take note of its vivid hues.

I'd miss your more personal posts, Mr. Palaeno, but I'd understand if you decide against doing more of them. Whatever makes you comfortable.

Your merchandising is really unique - I think that's a good thing. It suits Cohdopia.

Fish and Hearts sounds like a good game - do you have a favorite of the ones you've mentioned? Or one you're best at?

Thank you very much, Mr. Ken. I am glad you like reading the personal posts. I think I might simply try to be more careful about them, as I love connecting on a personal level.

How nice to hear that you approve of the online store so far! I hope to make improvements to it in the future and add even more unique products for others to enjoy.

My favorite game is certainly Kick-the-orange! I always lose at Låerleng and Fish and Hearts. Not that winning is what makes a game fun, but my husband and in-laws are extremely competitive when it comes to playing those particular games, and I prefer a more easygoing experience.

I don't mean to boast, but I am very good at Kick-the-orange.

((Never going to hear the end of that little accident :P)) chevrolady June 30 2010, 23:27:06 UTC
Like, you could always keep your really personal posts screened, Mr. P. You'd just have to be careful who you let see what. (And um, I'm super sorry again about the little aahnruhd accident.)

Sweet, you got up the online store! I'm totally gonna have my dad order more of those Hazelnut Castles soon. So like, Fish and Hearts, what kind of physical contests are on the cards? Stuff like arm wrestling or something?

You're quite right. I have been screening the posts, but sometimes it's difficult for me to know who I can trust.

Oh, it wasn't only you, so please don't blame yourself, Ms. Miney! There were reports of other accidents as well, I'm afraid.

I do hope that your father will find the online store useful. I'm still working on improving it and adding new products, but I thought I would get it up and running, since so many people asked for a place to purchase Cohdopian items online.

The contests on the Fish and Hearts cards vary somewhat, depending on the deck, but they include arm wrestling, foot races, tree-climbing, handstands, somersaults, etc.

I quite like the idea of this låerleng game... Is it much like Risk or Monopoly?

Reply

dearestdiplomat July 2 2010, 00:59:34 UTC
I'm glad you find the idea interesting, Mr. Gavin.

Låerleng could be considered similar to Risk, as it does involve locations and movement of company pieces (similar to a country's pieces in Risk). It also involves capital, like Monopoly, although in Låerleng, this is represented by a third type of piece which is also in play and can be manipulated by both players.

The primary focus of the game is the contest between a smaller, quicker, and more flexible force and a larger, more powerful one. A player's goal is either maintaining power or winning it, depending on which side she or he chooses.
