They haven't done anything about the numerous DKs I've seen named "Arthas" with funky characters, so I doubt they even care anymore.

I think there's a difference between having Greek names in the game and having your roleplay call upon Zeus to heal someone's mortal wounds, especially when Draenei explicitly worship the Light (or perhaps the Naaru).

I will cede your point- but I still think it's laziness on the part of the roleplayer and it irritates me.

If the healer is calling on deities to help them with their healing and magic ability and using Greek names/gods, then I'm sorry, no matter of NPCs with names that allude to said pantheon make that right. There's a defined set of deities in the Warcraft universe and none of them are Greek.

All that being said...it was a shaman, so even more Not Right, because they don't get their powers from deities but instead from the elements. They should have sounded like a Planeteer, not like an ancient Greek.

...unless the list you mentioned is replacements for the Greek names in their RP emotes, in which case that's still kind of weird but maybe if he changed them to that then the shaman's sending PMs to his BFF NPCs to give him moral support with his casting. :) That would actually be kind of funny!

Nope, Zeus and Artemis, I think. (which made me go 'Buh', because... why would either of those two aid with healing?)

I have long been sorely tempted to make a macro reminding other shamans that the Earth Elemental is not a DPS cooldown unless (a) you have Primal Elementalist and (b) your Primal Earth Elemental is channeling Reinforce the instant that totem hits the ground. Whenever I'm in LFR or LFD and I see the non-talented Earth Elemental come out? I want to reach through the screen and smack the relevant shaman.

I have seen it -so- much since Pandaria hit, I don't know wtf they're thinking. Until Pandas, my main was a raiding enhance/resto shaman. The only time. ONLY time the Rocky came out to play was when I was soloing, or the proverbial excrement was en route to the fan.

I didn't check if she had the talent- I was too busy weaving around (stupid Sha of Violence and his stupid spikes that DBM doesn't give sufficient warning for), and I am really rusty on the hunter, so my focus (heh) was occupied.

But I am glad to know that my gut is still correct; Rocky stays in his box.

The elementals look VERY different if you have Primal Elementalist. Check the screenshots. If you're seeing the old-school elementals, they don't have it. If you're seeing Cata-era elemental models? That's Primal Elementalist.

It was the standard earth elemental, if I remember right. I'll check the screenshots out when I get home (I'm at work) :)

I have seen some really adorable ones on res messages, heroism, other cooldowns.

One druid healer used to emote that she was rifling through pockets as she ressed, I thought that was hilarious. :)

It's a DPS gain to use Earth Elemental (while FE is on cooldown) in place of a spell like Lightning Bolt; but I don't do it in heroics, the taunts drive tanks insane. For raiding on bosses without adds/weird taunt mechanics, it's perfectly fine to use because it can't taunt most raid bosses.

I'm usually specced for Primal Elementalist in heroic dungeons, so I'll use mine on cooldown but he'll be channeling me and not attacking things or wrecking havoc.

Supposedly it can't taunt bosses at all. However...like you said it will taunt adds.

My Earth Elemental did some weird things on Garalon, but then again that fight is all kinds of stupid. On other non-add fights though, I use it pretty much on cooldown.
