Hell they should be glad Idris agreed to be in the movie considering an unknown is in the title role.

I'll have to check my lore, but I don't think they should be up in arms over Idris playing Heimdall. The Nazitru will flip their shit though.

There were a few sane comments. I liked this one -

While the Norse gods were worshiped by the Norse People they were not Norse themselves. They were GODS from a place called ASGARD, as in its a different planet/dimensional plane. The Asgardians were not worshiped by the Norse people because they had blond hair, they were worshiped because they were gods.

The majority? I want to bang my head into the wall.

As a comic nerd, I want actors to look like the characters they portray. Full stop. But I have to wonder how many of the people complaining know that Thor and his peers can take on human appearances that are very different from what they normally look like. The Warriors Three didn't look like they do now when they were off chilling with Doctors Without Borders. And what better human disguise for the "Whitest of the Gods" than a black man?

Of course, if this role prevents Elba in any way from playing Black Panther, I'm gonna be REAL SALTY.

heh heh idek, so long as he'll get to wear those viking skirts. but i'm wondering if he'll be cast as a villain since i was reading through the wiki on the marvel character. but it's hard to say what branagh will do.
