Soulfire had sensed the distress of her lover, even if she was at the other side of the campus when Dayenne and Artemis had their conversation. Knowing that the woman could use some support and caring right now, she abandoned her small unofficial herb garden and went looking for the Ranger.

She found her in the forest part of the campus ground, sitting all alone on a stone. The witch approached silently and placed a hand on Dayenne's shoulder.

"Dayenne," Soulfire said softly. "Do you want to talk about what upset you?"

"No." Dayenne let her head rest in her hands and waited for Soulfire to sit next to her. She'd get to the point where she would talk about what upset her, she knew there was nothing she could keep a secret from Soulfire for long.

"She called me a vampire," finally came the confession after several minutes of absolute silence. "She thought I was a vampire. Just because I got bitten once... that doesn't mean I'm a vampire, right?"
