Well, another working day ended with the weekend coming around. I took the bus over to Medway to do a charity shop in Strood and a visit to Hampstead Valley shopping centre ( Read more... )

I was going to do a visit to Ashford this morning but as the place was difficult to get to by bus, I decided to cancel the job. Also, it was a cold rain-soaked morning. I did not feel like going out.

I did go to town to post another Ziffit package.

I picked up three classical LPs for six quid - all looking brand new and hardly played.

A good productive day with three visits completed. Two in Westwood Cross and the other in Deal.

It was a charity shop visit in Deal and I picked up nice jazz LP for a fiver by Count Basie with Zoot Sims in a quartet setting.

A very blustery mild day that reached 14C but the wind factor made it feel less. I left early to get down to Tonbridgre to do a charity shop visit. Once completed I headed back to Miadtsone and then Gillingham to another fave record shop. I bought a Joan Baez LP from there. Just five quid for a very minty 1965 slab of vinyl.

I was going to do a "good morning" post and then got sidetracked as I had another sale on Discogs this morning. It has been a while since the last one, and I wanted to make sure I still had the disc. I did, a twelve-inch single which is hard to miss from Arcade Fire. It is already in a stiff LP mailer and just needs a printed-out postage label ( Read more... )

Recent news from the media has stated that vinyl records have superseded sales of CDs for the first time for 35 years ago. It has been stated that they have made more revenue for the music industry than CDs. That may be true - as they cost at least twice as much as a CD - but that is because the metric they are using is based on revenue value ( Read more... )

A brand-new stylus arrived in the post this morning for my Bush MTT1 turntable. A diamond-tipped one instead of the sapphire stylus it came with, and a much-improved sound to boot.

John Coltrane’s “Blue Train” sounds great but the Yes LP I played beforehand had quite a lot of sibilance on the vocals. I reckon that the vinyl has a fault or that it ( Read more... )
