I respectfully disagree. ;) But I know I've been remiss in setting up the True Blood watch/rewatch/comparison....I've got it slated for startup in July now.

I liked BtVS alright. I find it to be immature because of the high school/college aspect. TB is far more an adult vampire outing. It has outstanding highlights, no question!, but it also has really unbearable lows. IMO.

Different strokes.. etc. But in terms of influence i still think it lead the way, and that True Blood is probably the best that came after. I have not watched any of The Originals so i cannot comment on that series.

Highly influential, and certainly Russell T Davies often named it as a big influence on his revamp of "Doctor Who". It didn't have the kind of influence that Whedon was hoping for though! He was speaking just recently about how he hoped he was trailblazing a new era of female leads, but action adventures still tend to be led by men.
