He'd woken up in a room that he didn't recognize, and it took him a few minutes to realize that he wasn't still dreaming because of it. He gazed around. Had Hogwarts... gone through a major shift overnight? Why hadn't he heard about it
( ... )
Tris was fairly indifferent to who had come out of the door. He saw motion and his arm was moving before he realized ... well, who it was. At first, he'd thought it was just Kyle having found a shirt, but ... no. There was enough different about him that he'd recognized him even before he caught the scent of him on the cool breeze.
"Sorry," he called with a laugh - though he wasn't really. Anyone else, he might've been, but ... well, this was what they did.
Blue eyes gleaming, the wolf started toward his friend. "What took you so long?" he chided him. "I had to be ostracized from at least six other groups of people," he informed him. "Expected you a few days sooner."
Sure, he figured Lan would have questions. Lots of them. And he'd answer them. Soon.
Lan spluttered a bit as the snowball hit him full in the face, and his hand was halfway to his wand before he recognized the jerk who'd thrown it. He chuckled a bit, leaving his wand for now - there was always time to hex Tris later.
"You? Ostracized? I don't believe it," he said. "You obviously fit in so well. Just yout run of the mill gay werewolf, nothing to see here."
"That's what I tried to tell them, but apparently the other not so openly gay werewolf has been causing a bit of trouble before I got here? And ruined my reputation before people even knew I had one." He sighed.
"No, that's a lie. I was here before the other one." He hung his head in mock-shame before he grinned and crossed over to embrace his friend.
"As happy as I am to see you, I'm very sorry you had to be sucked into this." And that was about as true as it got. He'd wished for Lan to be here, yes, but ... he hated to think of his friend being hurt.
Edward walked past the town hall, hands shoved in the pockets of his jacket. He wasn't particularly cold, of course, but years of keeping up a human facade dictated his actions. Of course, the fact that he was not particularly cold wasn't entirely helped by a snowball smacking him in the back of the head. He had every idea who had thrown it, too. Since he could read minds and all.
From the other side of the hall, Emmett snickered, marble hands reaching down to form another hard packed ball of snow. He peeked out from around the corner of the building, judging the distance.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Edward murmured, knowing full well the other vampire could hear him, "I am faster, you know."
Jasper peered over the edge of the roof, grinning as he took aim, intending to peg both of them.
Sure, Edward was faster. But he couldn't move two directions at once. And Emmett ... well, he couldn't move nearly fast enough to avoid this.
He launched both balls of snow at his brothers, grinning as he took a few steps back, reasoning they'd peg him anyway - Emmett probably knew how to make the snowball's trajectory curve or something.
Edward heard Jasper's thoughts as he tossed the snowball and dodged it easily, but he walked right into Emmett's second attack when he threw it. Glaring at the latter as he turned, Edward bent to gather up some snow of his own, fully intending to peg him in the head or something.
Emmett hadn't been ready for Jasper's snowball.
"Hey!" he called out, annoyed, "No fair!"
Never mind that he'd just pulled the same trick on Edward. Grinning, he bent down to make up another ball, ready to toss it at the vampire on the roof. And he would have, too, if Edward hadn't pegged him. He glared.
Edward met his gaze innocently, holding his arms up in a 'who me?' kind of way.
Jasper laughed softly, and thought he should be fair. Glancing around to make sure no one was there to see, he dropped down off the roof of the dorms, landing in a crouch behind it. He scooped up some snow, making several balls as he crept silently toward the corner, peering around it before glancing behind him.
He readied a snowball, preparing it for whichever of his sibs he saw first - and figured it would be Emmett since Edward no doubt knew what he was up to.
