Day Eleven - Good Dream

Summary: Pepper wakes up from her dream of Chase in the caves and wakes him to tell him what happened.  They muse about what that means, and if anything can be done, and

Chase grunted a little, more asleep than not when he managed to crack open one eye. "S'bedtime," he mumbled to Pepper, rolling closer to her, an arm tightening around her, pulling her closer against him.

A few sleepy, sloppy kisses were pressed to her bare skin, though he did keep that one eye half-open. Maybe it was important.

"At least I'm not crying?" she offered, and smiled, "Though I think you may have had something to do with that, since it was you in my dream and not Tory."

She wondered how much - if any of it - he remembered, thinking that she might have to explain what happened almost word for word if he didn't recall a thing. Her smile turned a little devious as she considered making some of it up, but she decided that would be mean and that she should at least let the truth of it out before she went spinning falsehoods.

Even if they were very compelling falsehoods regarding being shoved up against trees and such. Pepper chuckled inwardly.

Dream. That caught his attention a little, and he opened his eye fully, managing to crack the other eye open as well. "I was in your dream?" he asked curiously.

Maybe this was the answer to the blank spot in his memories. "How'd I manage that?" he asked as he pulled her a little closer against him, sitting up slightly to pay attention.

Or at least try to pay attention.

After the day he'd had, sleep seemed so nice just then.

"Well according to you, you were in a cave in Riverfell," she replied, "I don't see how that's possible, since you're right here, but there you have it. So either the caves over there have lag or I'm a very vivid dreamer." She smirked a little, then added, "Maybe both."

Though really, if it had just been her imagination, he most decidedly would not have taken off to go check on his physical self, so it seemed unlikely it was just her thoughts getting away with her. Plus, same forest, same pretense, same everything except that it was Chase and not Tory who had found her this time.
