I loved the Zuko-Azula-Katara-Sokka thing. Just lovely, as of course was Zuko's anguish, is misinterpretation of Aang's words, him turning to Aang to lean on as soon as he offers without hesitation really shows how much Zuko trusts him and how much things have developed. He doesn't have to think about it, he just does it.
Plus of course the fact of Azula being there and in their camp is a possible later complication (Even unconcious, Azula makes the world complicated, its something both she and Zuko share, though Zuko tends to make things complicated for HIMSELF and UN-intentionally on the show). What do they do now?
What will the others say to Azula? What will happen when Azula wakes up?
Thank you. I can't help but see how the Sokka-Katara and Zuko-Azula sibling sets parallel against each other. And Aang makes for the perfect crutch for Zuko, and Zuko has realized that now as well.
There's going to be a lot of stuff happening soon, so I really hope I will be able to adress the Azula-issue properly even then.
Another lovely chapter. My favorite bit here was Katara's recognition of how her brother feels, seeing a younger sister die in a brother's arms. It's powerful. But all of this chapter really touched me, it was inspiring and beautiful. I really don't have much else to say. What a fantastic, fantastic job.
Lifebending - oh man, I've told you you're brilliant already, right? Seriously, this was wonderful. It's such an incredibly creative take on things, while still being authentic to the show. ATLA always plays with the idea that there is a good and bad side to everything, especially with firebending, and I really like how you've taken that further here. It's faithful to the source material while being something totally original all the same.
Thank you. When I first got the idea for life bending (back in the chapter where Zuko learned to lightning bend) I was constantly worrying over what the response would be once I introduced the ability. I'm glad I went through with it now. ;)
