Let's move on to ships, shall we?

Jul 20, 2013 22:22

Yet another 100 Things Blogging Challenge post. I really just want to move along, because I’m hoping the next few topics on this challenge excite me a bit more than this one…and thus I’d post more regularly to get through this, you know, within the century. I thought it would be so fun… squee about all my favorite TV shows. Instead getting through this list has seemed like a bit too much of a chore. So, I’m just wrapping it up here --- here are numbers 15-20, so I can close it out and move on to my next topic. (Ships I like! That should excite me more…and result in more comments as I think it’ll excite all of you more too.)

Reminder: I’m posting 20 times, 1 each about 20 - TV shows I’m watching (and you should too), and then I'll move on to the next grouping of 20 things!

1) Switched At Birth, ABC Family
2) Make It Or Break It, ABC Family
3) Fairly Legal, USA
4) Army Wives, Lifetime
5) Revenge, ABC
6) Necessary Roughness, USA
7) NCIS: Los Angeles, CBS
8) So You Think You Can Dance, FOX
9) Chelsea Lately, E!
10) The Client List, Lifetime
11) Downton Abbey, PBS
12) Rookie Blue, ABC
13) Scandal, ABC
14) Blue Bloods, CBS

15) MI-5, it’s taken me so long to post this that it’s no longer on air…in either country. Find at Netflix or similar

This is probably hands down my favorite TV series. It started when I was watching season one and they take someone who I thought was on the way to becoming a main character and instead had her head dunked in hot frying oil as she died. HUZZAH… that’s not something we do on US TV. Then I kept watching and just love the storylines, it’s hard to verbalize but they were just so much more nuanced than anything I could see on similar US shows. Plus the characters are not only interesting and intriguing, but also HOT. So yeah, love it.

16) Torchwood, BBC America

Uh, duh. I mean really. This show is crazy good. If you don’t know why, then you should go watch it. From the beginning - this really isn’t one to pick up with the last season. I ship, well, everyone.

17) Bunheads, ABC Family

Bunheads may or may not be cancelled after its first season. I woudn’t be surprised if it did get cancelled. I enjoyed it… but can’t say there was anything revolutionary going on in it. It was essentially Gilmore Girls for the next generation. Which is why I kept watching it: the same quick, smart dialogue. You really have to be on top of your listening to catch everything in these episodes.

Some episodes are
online at the show’s website.

18) Nashville, ABC

I’d watch Connie Britton watch paint dry. And she’s FABULOUS in this show. Plus there is both guy and girl eye candy everywhere you look. My tagline for the show = come for the music, stay for the hot men?

19) The Americans, FX

I’m a bit of a soviet-geek, so when they started advertising a show about USSR spies embedded in the US, I set my DVR with record speed. But it ended up being so much BETTER than I expected. It’s got spies, action, political intrigue and everything you would expect, and then it has more… the music, the set design, the commentary on women’s roles, the awesome imagery.

20) The Voice, NBC

I’ve tried to watch this other seasons, but have disliked the interactions involving Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green - neither of which I particularly like. But this year, it was Usher and Shakira in those seats instead. I like both of them, so I decided to give it a chance. And I was GLUED to this show. Has it always been this good, or did the coaches make that much of a difference? All four coaches were awesome to watch every week interact with each other. I hope it’s this good next year, because I had a blast watching each episode!
