"I guess ... when Obama says this stuff. I don't think he really means it. And that gives me hope!" - Jason Jones, on the video
Hahahaha. That line made me laugh and made me sad at the same time. Because I think Mr. Jones really did mean that. It's so wrong! But funny to watch Jon Stewart getting all flustered about having to make fun of his Lord and Savior um... preeeeeecious er... President Obama.
Yeah, it'll be fun to watch the parody media trying to sort this one out.
I don't take much stock in it. He said what needed to be said, and what was expected to be said in today's political climate. I never expected the entire country to do a 180-degree at 12:00:01, but it's pretty obvious from the rest of the speech that there will be changes, even if they take some time. I can appreciate his tempering Obamamania with a little splash of cold reality that there's a LOT of stuff that needs fixing, and it'll take time to do it.
I also expect Stewart to be funny at all times. :)
I stopped watching the Daily Show about 4 years ago when the only topic became how to bash President Bush... and he took pride in distorting facts in a way that I found NOT to be particularly funny.
Now that he has only the current administration to make fun of, he's probably going to be worth watching again. ;)
You put cheese on Italian food and it's great, melt it on Chinese food and it's disgusting. Brilliant!
I've always liked his humor, regardless of how I felt about the person he was mocking. I giggle more when I don't like the person, but that's only human. And I still see it for what it is, political humor.
