I'm only watching the Miura/Erika drama in expectation that it is going to be a spectacular train wreck *hopehopehope*

I'm not even bothering, tbh. I read the synopsis and thought "ooh, twisty forbidden affair drama?" but then the previews came out and it's just another gentle sakura jdrama sentimentality thing. WHATEVER.

I've only watched the first episode of Control so far, so I have no idea what I'm watching this season. Nothing is jumping out at me and demanding to be watched so far, especially given the ridiculous number of crime dramas. (Why, Japan? You're not that good at crime shows.) And there are a lot of dramas with premises that make me wary, but...knowing me, I'll wind up at least trying a bunch. And then possibly regretting it.

Yeah, it doesn't look like a very exciting season. But I'm pretty okay with it since I still haven't caught up with the one before... XD

Was Control any good? Did it rip off Galileo as much as it seemed from promos?

Pretty much. I'm hoping for something to be unexpectedly awesome, but...we'll see.

I haven't watched Galileo, so I can't tell you, but I wasn't impressed (though this may have something to do with my hatred of psycho-babble). It's more of the usual "cop who takes him/herself too seriously gets stuck with a quirky genius sidekick" formula, and at least after one episode it didn't seem like it was bringing anything new or interesting to that.

I'm heartened by the knowledge that Keiko watched Criminal Minds in preparation for filming.

Bwahaha, I know! I mean, I was sold on the drama even before I read that, but it brought the wonderful mental image of Keiko curled up with tea and chocolate during a 10-hour TV marathon, explaining to concerned friends that SHE'S TOTALLY DOING RESEARCH. And I don't care whether it really happened or not, in my canon it did and made her even more awesome.
