Holiday seasons around the corner. I’ve never been big on the holiday seasons. Everyone is always all excited and ‘Happy Holidays’ and stuff like that and I am more of a ‘Bah Humbug’ type of person. Haha, I'm very "bah humbug" about it all too, I really couldn't care less about Christmas. That said, Chris will get a surprise when he gets home tonight because I put a tree up (he's like a kid about Christmas and I feel bad if nothing gets done).

There is only so much skipping of family holiday events that I can get away with. I skipped Christmas last year, but two years in a row, I can't really do that. Luckily if I get fed up I'll just walk home with Ashley, My Aunt is hosting this year and she doesn't live to far away. :)

We have no relatives to get together with and after many difficult years of family gatherings, I am just fine with this. Politics were always the issue, ick.
And this is because we moved to Idaho away from my brother and sister and cousins in San Diego.

Most of my mothers family are what I consider 'conservative democrats. The vote democratic but have issues with everyone and every thing around them that isn't what they feel is 'normal'. *rolls eyes*

I'm in the middle of the holiday cheer spectrum. I enjoy the idea of everyone being nice to one another, but something about it feels so artificial and ephemeral that it drives me away. I also don't fully believe in gift giving as I'm usually very content just being around people that I love. Holidays tend to leave me feeling obligated and anxious, so blah.
