Adventures in Hermitude

This week has been filled with self imposed artsy and craftsy hermitude. I haven't done a single chore aside from feed the cats and clean their litter since Friday. It's refreshing and wonderful, and I feel pretty relaxed despite being in a pretty 'meh' mood ( Read more... )

Yay--I'm glad it arrived (and to have those clues for future postcards. I'm on a postcard kick).

I'm working on making some. And gathering things to send out when I'm off my postcard making binge. :D

I been in this hermit-style crafting mood for months *l* since I got laid off (aside from seeing the off again band play), and its actually been somewhat nice. I've been getting caught up on all my writing, and been getting a buffer going on my webcomic. Course the down point is its been hard to write music when there's isn't a lot of social interaction. I had no idea how much life is needed to write the kinda songs I like writing. But alas.

As to Amano, he's a strange artist. I find that some of his art is kick ass and then he has some art I really don't care for. Its more apparent in the Vampire the hunter D light novels I've been reading.

I enjoy a lot of Amano's Sandman and Final Fantasy artwork. I tend to like the works where he has managed to fill in the entire space more so than the ones where there is a character in the middle of a big white space. I haven't checked out the Vampire Hunter D novels, but I do enjoy quite a few of his Vampire Hunter D paintings.

I go in and out of Hermit mode sometimes without realising it. Sometimes I fight it, but right now I'm enjoying the lack of social interaction. It's been feeling a bit forced lately, so I'm taking this time to recuperate and re-balance. And maybe get some art/crafts done in the process. :)
