I know. The plural of stuff is stuff. But my sister Hanni and her husband Trevor are crazy. They've put "stuffs" in their vocab just to be cute. So for this post, I'll borrow the cringe word. Hah.
For my hair
I went shopping at Evita Peroni the other day. The brand sponsors me in Urban Zone. And lucky me, I get to wear their accessories in real life. My hair is getting so long. I am forever in a pony tail or headband. Here are the pieces I chose this season:
Vertical ponytail clip wrapped in 100% silk and Austrian crystals. I have very thick hair and this clip holds very well.
Silk headband with an Austrian crystal. I chose a deep navy colour. I think navy and black (my hair) go well in a sophisticated manner.
This fork, or whatever it's called can hold a French twist all by itself...
...because it has this spring thingy to keep the fork in place.
Fancy little clip to hold my bangs wisps away from my face. A bit of a splurge considering I can use just a bobby pin. But I couldn't resist the combination - old rose and taupe
I love these fancy black elastics. They're essentially ponytail holders. But big enough to use as a bracelet, headband and if you dare, necklace. I just keep them on my wrist, then use them to tie my hair whenever the need arises.
For my feet
Remember how I bought these cute
Melissa x Vivienne Westwood shoes on a whim? Well turned out to be the most comfortable things. Seriously. And they are the happiest shoes on earth. Every time I wear them, people smile at me and I'm sure they're dying to ask. Some have asked. Got them in Mix Greenbelt 5.
While taping UZ at Space Encounters, wearing a K&Company dress, the necklaces I make and the happiest Melissa shoes.
So I treated myself to a new pair. This one I can wear on casual days. Because I've been stuck on ballet flats everyday and my husband thinks its so unimaginative. Yes, he has a say and I like that. Haha.
It came in other colours like black and red. But I thought this creamy colour was cute and casual.
This one has a bit of a heel, but it's technically a wedge. So, more comfy.
Surprisingly comfortable.
Bag for my "stuffs"
You all know I'm not a major bag lady like my friend
the baghag. I mean, I'm picky and all. But I do not have a huge collection of designer bags. Mostly because of budget constraints. But believe me, the lust is there. Haha.
Last spring I bought a sling bag at Roots. It's a Canadian brand (unless they've sold out to an American retailer like most successful Canadian brands have) that I grew up with. Nothing fancy. Just real practical good quality leather. I aspired to have a Roots leather backpack in high school. Eventually I was able to afford one in University. I still remember it - very preppy red suede with the nicest brown leather straps. They should re-issue that line. But now I'm off topic...
Anyway my sling bag was made of the yummiest vegetable-tanned leather. I loved how raw it looked and how it developed a beautiful patina after.
When I got back to Manila, I realized the sling bag was irrelevant to my lifestyle. I needed to be hands-free in Toronto because I was always chasing the kids, pushing the stroller and all that. Here, thankfully we have help. But I really loved vegetable tanned leather, so I ordered a shopper in that specific leather. It had to be specially-ordered by my sister and there was an extra $25 fee. And thanks to some great relatives, I got my bag delivered to me hassle-free.
I think she's a beauty. And the smell, oh so yummy.
P.S. The winners of the National Geographic t-shirts will be announced soon. We are still choosing... 25 winners! Instead of 15, Nat Geo offered 25. Stay tuned.
