To Cheer Up The Rainy Day

Have a link to the site, Topless Robot: The Ten Most Insane Moments in Dragonball and DBZ. And don't worry, it's safe for work. And amazingly, four of the ten are cited within the Buu Saga. Well, I guess not "amazingly", because, c'mon. It was one of the more entertaining Sagas of DBZ, where things were more silly and less SUPER SERIOUS.

See, I never watched any of the Buu saga. I thought the end of the Cell saga, while taking an ass-long time, was pretty good. If they had gotten past the constipation and collapsed the episodes by about 50%, I think it would all be much better. But, I understand why they had to do what they did, so that's okay.

I will have to turn up the sound and watch these later, of course, but I have one major bitch...

The blogger constantly refers to Vegeta and the others as 'Saiyans'. This is incorrect. In the original Japanese, you can clearly heard them called 'SaiYAJINS'. It might be a small difference, but it's one reason I will always prefer subs. It's an American change that wasn't necessary, but happened because the American translators got lazy. RRRRRMYTHOSSMASH!

Anyway...I remember some of these and yeah, I wanna see them again. :P

Dude, most everyone who has ever watched DB, DBZ, DBGT, know it as Saiyans. There's nothing wrong with English dubbing. I find that some of my favorite animes are better dubbed in English than in Japanese.

I use 'Saiyan' and 'Saiya-jin' interchangeably. They essentially mean the same thing but I prefer 'Saiya-jin' over 'Saiyan' because of the way it sounds when spoken. The benefit of 'Saiyan' is that it's quicker to say.

As for dubbing...there are cases where it's horribly, horribly done (i.e. Kenshin). And other cases where it makes the series sound better than the original voices (i.e. Slayers). The latter is a minority though, which is why I also prefer subs.

This is actually another reason I watch subs almost exclusively. Good dubs are very few and far between. I came into watching anime when the dubs were simply horrible. So, I got a prejudice against them because of it.

There may not be anything wrong with dubs today, but there were in the past. I just prefer the subs. :)

What, no Over 9000?

And I fucking loved the Cooler movie. No Cooler makes Jesus a sad boy.

Awww...they didn't list the episodes where Goku and Vegeta are wandering around inside Buu! Those episodes are a SCREAM! Have you and Ger ever seen those? If not, I need to remedy that!

Ah well. They did chose some good moments. Especially their #1. The most evil villain in the series...getting his ass handed to him by a piece of hard candy. Awesome. :D
