I heard that Prosecutor's death suppose to represent what happened in the manga's story. In the story, Ryo had a partner/friend that was killed off before he become a private detective. It made we wonder if the writers intended this to be a origin story.
I didn't really see them killing him off (until he was dramatically leaving Sae Hee @ the hospital). Then I was just in denail saying it was too obvious they weren't going to end it that way.
I pictured the season ending with YS being killed and the Prosecuter (or Nana) becoming "City Hunter". Dying for episode 20!! At 79% last time I looked!
I have no where to talk about this while you were unavailable. I was dying! This show owns. No lie it owned me in this episode. The parallels between prosecutor and YS = amazing. The way YS said he left YJ alive (because lets face it...he could have killed him the second YJ found out his identity. Hello KILLING machine) was the same reason that YJ let him go. When they were talking about City Hunter's reasons for being I could see where they were alike. YJ and YS both saw it too. The law lost, but City Hunter won in his own way

Yeah, I am travelling for work all week plus LJ is being wonky. Fuuuun!
But yes, I loved how they drew the parallels between the men in both honor and trauma and utter bullheadedness and willingness to die for what is right.
As to YS, yeah, he blames himself for everything anyway, and YJ was collateral damage made by Undaddy and he really did like him. Damn.
Yeah, I was sure he'd be beaten and hospitalized but fine and then they hit him on the head and I know that was it. Awful. Especially since he still could have lived possibly, even with the horrible beating, if he stubbornly didn't try to arrest Target anyway (oh, damn, I am close to crying again).
Sae Hee is strong and very mature so I think she will know it's not YS' fault. But I doubt she will ever want to see him or Nana again, because if not for YS' revenge thing, Prosecutor would have never got involved and died.
I honest to God just stopped breathing when that final blow came. I didn't see all the signs coming throughout this episode, Pros tying up loose ends, confronting people he needed to confront, having that one on one with YS, making amends with Sae Hee, it was all pointing to it, I just didn't see it
