There were no lighted guard towers out here and no heavily-armed patrols, and Prussia again felt insulted by the lack of security. It was almost as if they wanted him to escape! Until now, hardly a day had gone by without the control council making its presence-and his position-known. The sudden change in tune disturbed him more

The birds were still up there. (What was the story about them again--that they ate virgins? Indy scoffed under his breath.) Aside from those shadows along the line of the roof and a lone patient making for the shed, the field looked deserted. Good.
This would be familiar territory for these two, so Indy started quickly and quietly off across the grass and trusted them to follow.

"From what I recall of Lamperouge's timeline, it has been" -- there was a brief pause while he calculated in his head -- "almost three weeks, now, since Jack's death was reported. What struck me about tonight's announcement was how Landel seemed to want us to listen to any radio broadcasts that might be made tonight. It's more of the same ( ... )

It seemed this was the corner of the hospital's grounds. There were no landscaped courtyards or further buildings beyond this part of the wall, so this would be where he'd go over. He dropped the torch to the ground and judging the distance to where it now lay, jumped off.

He peered out of the door carefully for a moment before actually stepping outside. The field wasn't actually too dark. The crisp autumn night was clear, the sky black and dotted with stars, which was lucky since that was what he and Alkaid were supposed to be doing tonight, right? He moved along the wall to the corner so that he could see most of the field and both doors to the building without being easily seen himself. Not to mention if anything came he could probably climb the wall without much difficulty and lob razors down at it.

Allelujah smiled when he heard the voice calling him and he turned to face the red-head. He waves back at Alkaid, glad that she seemed to have made it without too much trouble. She didn't look injured at least. He would hate to have to explain to Badou that he got his friend maimed or something. Besides... she was just a kid. Not that Allelujah himself was that much older probably, but he'd seen so much more.
He hurried over towards he, taking up position nearby where he could see the entire field and make sure they weren't in imminet danger of being attacked. "Hey, how is it coming?"

The second child let Junpei do the manual labor on this adventure and stood behind while he opened the door at the end of the hall. Once they stepped outside, Asuka pulled away from the highschooler so she could stretch her arms out, up over head and back at her side where she swung them back and forth as she looked around. It was much brighter outside and the young girl turned off her flashlight so as not to use up unnecessary battery life.
"Jeez, it's creepy out here even at night..."

"Yeah. And there's some kind of diseased dogs out here at night, so we need to really keep ours eyes open." Speaking of eyes, his flickered up at the roof of the building looming over them. "And giant birds, too. Somebody likes to play mad scientist."

"Oh this? I got into a fight at lunch," he said, pointing to the black eye, unconcerned about it. "And I dunno how there are giant birds. I just figure some guy with way too much time and a high tech lab played around with bird DNA and spliced together something huge and ugly with wings."
