"Stop calling me Greg, it's weird!" Raz protested, but predictably his words were ignored, and the nurse left with his roommate without a sound. The door closed shut, and he was alone once again

Claude was so outraged at the way his dinner with his roommate had ended that he could barely hear the intercom message as he roughly tried to turn the stiff doorknob of the door. He knew it was hopeless -- he'd been here long enough to figure that out -- but it still didn't stop him from banging at the door's surface, teeth clenched and shoulders tight. Those bastards had waltzed in and taken Rey, as if they had the damned right to experiment on all of them like a bunch of animals! Being held back and forced to watch while they led the boy away only triggered the sort of feelings that had washed over him when he'd learned Ashton had been taken all that time ago. Just who the hell did they think they were, anyway?!
More than that, what the hell did they think they were doing?!When the door finally unlocked, Claude nearly lost his balance because of how much weight he'd been using to try to get it to budge before. Artemis wasn't sure if he should feel relieved or disappointed that the head doctor was still alive. He himself had made false apologies that sounded much like the one Landel had just given--Artemis imagined that the doctor wasn't sorry at all. Only sorry that it had somehow backfired on him and put him out of commission for two days, if not more.
He was happy that his plans were coming to him instead of Artemis himself running about the patient blocks running errands. For one, he didn't want to leave Haku. And secondly, he didn't want to find out what increased 'training' consisted of.
"I do, but nothing I'm leaving for," he said with a soft smile. "I'm staying here with you again. Hanatarou should be here soon to heal you, and Keman is coming here shortly afterward."
"Another night of visitors and me with nothing to wear." Haku chuckled softly at that.
He was glad that Artemis wouldn't be leaving, and that his friend at chosen to stay in. Despite feeling considerably better, Haku didn't think he was well enough to be chasing Artemis around the halls and fighting off whatever constituted 'training' exercise.
This hallway was even darker than the ones before, and Hanatarou couldn't help but imagine any kind of creature, be it Hollow or other sort of monster, lurking in wait for him in the deep shadows. He pulled out his flashlight again and shook it fiercely before turning it on, and to his relief managed to get a very (very) faint beam of light. It hardly showed him anything past his hand's reach, but even that was enough to be somewhat comforting.
It also let him read the numbers on the door as he passed, and he paused for a moment outside of M47. This was the right room, wasn't it? Was it okay to knock? Maybe they weren't ready yet. Maybe...
No, he had to take care of this quickly so he wouldn't be late. Hanatarou drew in a breath in a failed attempt to steady his nerves, and lifted his hand to rap on the door.
Only after the doors had unlocked with a loud click did the Scarecrow rise from his seat and return the note to Depth Charge. He looked back at the untouched food on his tray, his mind wandering to what a waste it was.
"So you weren't originally human either?" he asked, breaking the silence that followed the announcements. That gave him something in common with his roommate, at least. "If that's the case, then we've probably got a common goal. Maybe we could go looking for these ingredients?"
Depth Charge paid little attention to the intercom, instead nodding at the Scarecrow's question and digging around for his flashlight and shears. "Yeah, that's right." Which meant... he peered the the other man, head to one side as he tried to decipher just what the Pit he was before, but the options were vast and the hints limited. "What were you, exactly, Scarcr..." Or not. Oh. Stupid question. "Never mind."
The peer turned quizzical (and probably a little accusing) as the Scarecrow returned the note. Considering they'd only just met... well. That was a lot of trust to throw in there. Trust he wasn't entire sure he could live up to, not after what had happened to For- "You sure you wanna come?" he interrupted himself quickly.
"Of course," said the Scarecrow with a smile. "I'm not sure how much help I would be, but surely two heads are better than one, especially in a place as unwelcoming as this. And if nothing else, granted we manage to find some of these ingredients, I can help you carry things. I'm not so terrible at that."
He found his flashlight in his desk drawer and fished it out, clicking it on and off a couple of times to make sure it was still in working order. "I'm ready anytime you are, Depth Charge, my friend."
Depth Charge gave the Scarecrow one last hard look- as though turning up the cynicism in his stare would suddenly make everything clear to him- then nodded. "Alright. You're in."
There was something oddly final about that. Or maybe he was just looking into it too much. Well, whatever. His new partner certainly didn't seem daunted, and that kind of optimism was usually pretty catching. "First we hit up chemical storage, then we try the pharmacy," he explained gruffly, stuffing a map into his back pocket with his shears and turning to the door. "Let's go."
As boring as dinner had been, that was the final hurdle. Harvey waited as Lunge gathered all of his things and left without a word, exactly as he'd been hoping the man would. This left Harvey to grab all of his own tools (maybe weapons was the more appropriate word) in peace. He started with the gun, of course, sticking it into the elastic of his pants as he had before. Next was the extension cords, which he slung around his right arm, and finally, the metal pipe. That last one wasn't quite as necessary, but there was no such thing as too prepared.
He hadn't gotten any word from Jason during the day, but he hadn't exactly been expecting it. They had needed to be discreet, and he was just going to have to trust the kid for now.
The point was, he wasn't missing this for the world. And he had to be quick -- he had to be there and ready before Jason brought the Bat over. Harvey grabbed his flashlight and then wasted no time in leaving his room behind and starting down the familiar hallway.
Alright! This was going to be the night to end all nights! The Institute wouldn't know what had hit it once Kibitoshin was out of his room!
First on his agenda was healing Sechs. The Kaioshin flexed his hands thoughtfully at his desk, staring at his palms in quiet consideration. Sure, it had made him kind of dizzy to heal himself before, but that was just because he was new. He just hadn't found his feet yet, that was all. This time it would be different. He was sure of it. Maybe afterward he'd even be able to find more people to heal, or get ahold of something to defend himself with. Not that he needed a weapon, of course. He was the Guardian of the Universe and he'd helped take out a mirror zombie! Nothing could get him no

"Did you have any plans for the evening Artemis?" Best to focus on the here-and-now than worry needlessly...
