Having such an unwieldy number of patients wasn’t terribly disheartening when put in those terms: his knowledge grew with every conversation.

He set down Re-l’s picture back down, the fondness present in his eyes when he’d been gazing at it slipping away to instead be contained behind the doctor’s professional mien. He took his usual seat at his desk.
