Day 39 -- Doctor's Office 8 [Dr Disraeli]

Feb 19, 2009 10:59

Jizabel was hardly looking forward to his first sessions this morning. The fact that he again would be seeing two in such a short time was difficult enough as it left less time with each, and what was more was that he had yet another woman listed. At the very least this one was coming with some warning to him, but Jizabel did not have to be ( Read more... )

Intent on getting something accomplished after meeting with Badou, Renamon wasn't too happy to find herself escorted not to the sun room, but to the doctor's hallway. Wary and annoyed, she followed the nurse, not seeing that much of a choice in the matter.

Was this some king of counseling? Did they really think that something like that would make someone forget their whole life?

She thought of Rika, suddenly and fiercely. Was this how it had started with her? How had she got to... that point, where she remembered their promises, but not what they were about? It didn't matter. Renamon would find out, and in the meantime, she would endure through this until she could actually get something done.

So the woman was first.

Jizabel had not taken much interest in Ms. Akiyama's file when he'd reviewed it, but he had noted areas that he would be required to address. She'd had a visitor before, the one that had had a hand in placing her here, and they'd apparently had a touching, though stressed visit according to those nurses. That was of no matter, although the woman's relationship with the young Rika would be discussed eventually, as well as the strange word that continued appearing in various places on the file. Jizabel himself was unfamiliar with "Digimon", after all.

"Welcome, Ms. Akiyama," the doctor greeted with a smile as she was shown in, "My name is Dr. Jizabel Disraeli, and I will be your therapist for today. If you'll have a seat, we can get started once you are comfortable."

Endure it. Don't make problems. It'll go by faster.

"Of course," she replied, settling herself in the chair opposite the 'good doctor'. Other than that, she said nothing. She would follow the man's lead at today's game. Renamon simply stared, bright eyes locked upon the man.

Now that wouldn't do. Compliance was only allowed if it was after Jizabel had given his silent permission. For now, the patient had to speak up. It was her only chance to keep some control, after all.

"As this will be our first session together, why don't we start by getting to know each other? You can tell me anything you'd like, or ask me what questions you may have," Dr. Disraeli opened as he usually did, but it only drew his mind more towards that session evading him at the moment. He wouldn't have to be so permissive then. "For starters, is there a name you would rather me call you aside from Ms. Akiyama?"

When Kira had tried to get to the Sun Room after breakfast, his conversation with Gin still blazing in his mind, the nurse redirected him. No, Logan - today you're going to be talking to one of the doctors. It's therapy, all right? No, it wasn't all right, he had to get to Hinamori and give her his report - but there was no real fighting to be done as he was escorted down the halls to the doctor's offices, where the nurse rapped gently on the door before opening it and gently pushing Kira inside.

He gave the doctor one look and let his face fall completely impassive (admittedly, that's how it always was). He wasn't insane; therapy was unnecessary. He stood just inside the door after the nurse left, still, silent, and seething with anger and unhappiness somewhere in his mind. If the doctor told him to sit down, then he would. Otherwise, he would get no compliance from Kira.

The man's entrance changed Jizabel's mood for the better, but not by much. Mr. Murdoch appeared as ridiculously plain in Jizabel's eyes - brown eyes, a slightly fair face at best, but nothing really worth his time in experimenting with. Unless he had another desire to experiment with parasitic eggs again, but that was still more suited for women than plain men.

"Welcome, Mr. Murdoch. I am Dr. Jizabel Disraeli, and I will be your therapist for today." he introduced, then motioned to the chair, "If you would have a seat, we can begin whenever you are comfortable."

Kira gave the doctor another careful look before moving to sit down in the chair, his expression revealing nothing. If he could make this as short as possible, he could get out early and finish up the report to give to Hinamori. He'd only gotten a little bit done between the time they'd been allowed after breakfast (as he was unwilling to let Gin see anything he wrote), but the paper was still folded neatly in his pocket, waiting for him to finish it.

He said nothing, just kept his eyes slightly downcast, watching the far edge of the man's desk. The slightest movements of his arms would not go unnoticed.

Well, wasn't this one just the definition of a conversationalist?

Jizabel realized that he would likely have to drag the whole session along by the man's nose to get anything out of him, but he kept the irritation of that to himself. It took all kinds to create a place like this, and if Jizabel wanted to find those really worth his time, he had to deal with even the dullest of humans.

There was, however, something Jizabel wished to be sure of before he had to put too much effort into this. "You have not been sedated, have you, Mr. Murdoch?" he questioned, outwardly concerned.

The doctor would not have put it past those nurses to toss him a patient they'd only just needed to drug. They couldn't understand just how difficult that could make things for him, either as a scientist or the therapist they believed him to be. Any data would be compromised due to the drug's effects, and there was hardly any progress that could be made towards recovery when a patient was too impaired to remember the session afterwords!
