When Sora moved from his block out into the hallway, he was surprised to see that it was more or less empty. Was the heavy feeling thing making people apprehensive to go out? He wouldn't blame them if that was the case, since it really was bothersome, mainly because he didn't know what was causing it or what it meant.
Still, the fact that he didn't have other patients to maneuver around meant that he could get to his destination quickly. Unless a monster came out to bite, but they usually weren't around quite so early. Hopefully he could find Rena and get to the activities shed without getting attacked. He wasn't sure if they would be quite as lucky when they were outside.
The hall where he was to meet Hijikata was empty, leaving Homura with a problem. He hadn't spent that much time with Sanzo, but there was no telling how patient Hijikata was. It left the demi-god only two choices: wait, or go on.
Homura had been through enough nights to know how quickly they passed, and how suddenly they ended. Balancing his sword on his shoulder, he stood near the stairwell where he could see people passing through the other halls. For now, he would wait.
Homura was nowhere to be found, and this time the hallway opened up into two separate corridors. Where to go from here? Or should he wait...? But before he could make up his mind, Hijikata was aware of someone watching from the stairs.
At last. Homura smiled as he heard the familiar voice. "Not long. We'll be going upstairs. Do you have anything that will work as a weapon?"
To be prepared was wise, but it wouldn't stop them from proceeding. Homura was confident enough in his own skills to go ahead even if Hijikata hadn't shown up at all.
"I said earlier that I didn't want a hindrance, why would I become one myself?" He asked simply, though there was nothing but patience in his voice. He understood why Homura would ask, but he hoped to avoid any further questions of the nature.
He'd wrapped his hands with strips of the bedsheet, and part of the length hung loosely to the tip of his fingers on his right hand. There were a few pens hidden beneath his sleeve on the left, secure in the folds of cloth.
The metal from his bed was surprisingly weak, and would likely have been more of a hindrance than anything. He'd chosen to travel light tonight. If he was to carry metal back as well as defend himself without a sword, he didn't need anything more than the necessary.
He didn't show any of this to Homura, though. He smirked slightly, eager to be moving. "Let's not wait for sunrise."
Finally the front hall. Max paused as she stepped into the corridor, allowing her night vision to scan the long hall. There were two doors that led to stairwells here. She would check both of them and if neither granted what she was looking for, she'd keep looking elsewhere. There had to be a way downstairs somehow.
This hallway was also silent, minus the few random footsteps she heard. She wouldn't let them get to her, though. She had to be strong. Swallowing, her hand began to shake as she continued to move, her thoughts blank as she neared a stairwell. "Might as well see what's upstairs ..."

He continued on.

"Homura-san. Have I kept you waiting?"
As a rule, he didn't make excuses.

Excel continued slinking on, flicking her flashlight on and off as she rounded the corner and headed into the hallway with the male rooms.
