[from
here]Even the main hall was deserted. S.T. switched on his flashlight and took a look around. Yeah, it was empty. No roadkill, no other patients. If he ever made it home, he was never bitching at any of the girls who didn't want to do night ops alone again. It was different when you knew there were things out there in the darkness.

Well, not that many people around yet. Niikura went up and down the western section of the hall twice just to make sure that he hadn't missed someone standing in the shadows before moving over to the wall himself and settling against it with a sigh. It was stupidly relieving to know that Shiina hadn't been standing out here by herself, although he didn't doubt that someone would've come to help had she been attacked by something. It was just that...that person wouldn't have been him.
Ugh, what was he even thinking? This time, Niikura really did smack himself lightly on the forehead. "Get it together," he hissed under his breath. They were going to be okay. He could keep all of his promises for sure.

Shou was always easy to spot if you knew what to look for; that spiky, white hair was the first give-away. Shiina found herself smiling and relaxing a bit more, skipping up to him in an almost care-free way.
"Hey there, stranger," she greeted, moving the bat from her side to rest up against her shoulder. She could afford to be a little silly now that Shou was around. He could do anything. "Is Mike-san joining us again tonight?"

He looked down the hall, watching for Mike. "Aye, he should be coming. We gotta have back-up, y'know. Make the goin' a little easier." Now if the other man could just get here some time like oh, right about now, they'd be all set to go...

Sidling up a bit closer, Shiina took a place against the wall beside him and kept her own eyes open for their comrade. She hoped he wasn't having difficulties with monsters again tonight while they were here waiting for him and still relatively safe. That would just be cruel.
"Glad to know you aren't chancing this place solo," Shiina remarked honestly. If he had attempted the same routine he had back home here she would have to have questioned his sanity. Working by oneself here wasn't an option, not even for a Shou.

C'mon, Mike, any minute now...

Mike arrived not too late after the others, watching them as he approached. They were together already--good. After the craziness of last night, he didn't like the idea of Shiina off on her own. Niikura had been good at covering for her, but there was nothing anyone could do if she was by herself. She wasn't now, and so he didn't bother to worry about it further. Maybe they should discuss someone picking her up eventually--although, truthfully, some of the halls were safer than others. They only needed to meet up partway. He'd have to ask Niikura what he thought later. Tomorrow.
The former turtle leaned against the wall, doing his best to seem like he had alwasy been there; Niikura might have seen him, but he could at least hope Shiina hadn't.
He quirked an eyebrow, "So, what the shell are you two waiting for? Let's go."

Mike arrived then, or had he just been hanging out the whole time? Shiina didn't think he had been, but the way he talked he had been waiting for them. Oops. "Uh, sure, let's go."
