*Went to a nice wedding last weekend. It was a family friend about my brother's age, out in Annapolis, in historic London Towne. I hadn't been able to make the wedding last year of the sister who is my age (but happy anniversary conspiratrix and jameyhasnolj!) so it was a actually a really nice opportunity to talk to them. And to dance :) Oh, ( Read more... )

Congrats to your brother!

My sister-in-law just had twins, too - likewise a little boy and girl. And they definitely checked their sanity in at the door. They actually now sleep in separate rooms - each with a baby - because one always now seems to be awake when the other is sleeping, and when they were all in the same room, no one was sleeping as a result!

I remember when I got pregnant the first time, and the doctor thought at first I was having twins (because I had a huuuuge "swimming pool" as it were, and was so large for five weeks, they thought I might be carrying twins). As neat as the idea might be, I'm soooo glad my boys were spaced out!

So, I don't have a Greek outfit, but Groupon has a deal on RI Costume today ($15 for $35 Worth of Costumes, Accessories, and Props at Rhode Island Costume - http://gr.pn/bH4fWE ) which is in Warwick, so maybe not useful for you? But I imagine if you keep an eye out on the Boston Groupon in the next few weeks, you might see similar deals.

Congrats on your impending aunthood! Being an aunt rocks.

Twins, huh? And these are their first kids? (Ulp.) Yeah, they're going to need a lot of help and a lot of stocked-up san points! If they're local (I have no idea), be aware that the second-nicest thing you can do for overwhelmed new parents during the first 2 months is to bring them easily reheatable food in large quantities. (The #1 nicest thing you can do is come over and clean their house and do all their chores for them while watching the baby while they sleep.)

Good luck with the greek dress! I got nothin'. Seems like something easily sewn, though, given that they weren't big on sewing back then...????

Wow. It is so funny how different people view aunthood. Once I got married, I hit the point of 6 nieces and 6 nephews and 1 grand-niece... and given that my first nephew when born when I was 20 months old, I was not that excited or aware of the honor. ;-)
