And Sometimes I Knit Things...

Welcome to the "February is for Finishing - Knitting Edition" post.

Below, I've listed all the current projects that I have on the needles (that I can find, anyway - we've still got a lot of stuff packed from moving and I'm not going to make myself crazy trying to find the rest right now). They're up to date on Ravelry (links are provided below, ( Read more... )

Those things with a picture are AMAZING! I'm going to assume that the others without a picture are equally amazing.

I need to get my neck cowl finished. Seeing your projects give me inspiration to pick it back up again and then, perhaps, start something else with all the yarn I seem to be buying lately!

:D Thank you!

And hooray for inspiration! I haven't been knitting much at ALL the last year or so, but this activity tends to get me back in the mood for it. I'm hoping this time it sticks around for awhile.

What kind of cowl are you knitting? What sort of yarn is it?

I'm actually crocheting it. No one ever dared teach me how to knit (it was decided early on that knitting was too sedentary for me and I've never broken out of that mindset) and I tried to learn how to loom and threw it across the room so I picked the hooks back up! It's just a circle... which I turned when I first linked it so it's an eternity cowl. *grins* I don't follow patterns. Does that surprise you? It shouldn't.

The yarn. Oh, I love the yarn. It's knobby and blue. It's lovely! I thought about making just a plain ol' scarf with it but then I thought I'd try something new. I will need to work on a scarf because I need a new one! All of mine are too short!

:) I really like crochet, too. I learned how to do that first, but I love knitting best.

I only barely follow patterns. Often, I start with one then go pretty far afield.

I've gotten to where I try to have a project with me at all times... with a kip bag (basically a little drawstring pouch with some kind of clip on it so you can hook it on your beltloop or bag or something) I can usually take something small like a sock or hat along with me where ever I go - you can even walk around and knit at the same time that way. (It's really great for places like amusement parks where you have to stand in line a lot.) That should work just as well for crochet, too, although you'd need to be a little more careful not to lose your hook.
