It turned out, rather notably, exactly like hummus. I am not sure what revolution I was led to expect in making my own, but it was fun anyway, and I haven't garnished it with paprika and fresh parsley yet, either, which can only make it more exciting... -

Now that my week of networking and being schmoozed is over, I can finally relax, not eat any fancy food, not drink any wine, and get no social interaction.
