The smaller ones are being eaten that way but now, mostly, we have full plump pods so we are letting them mature, then sitting and shelling them. Then mainly eating them raw in the garden :)
Pondhopper! Is there a pond or stream nearby where the frogs may come from? It looks like despite your peas getting eaten by slugs (?)that you have some beautiful peas and I mean that literally. They are perfect!
I love glads and it looks like you have more coming up!
Our next door neighbour has a fish pond, so we assume the frog(s) must have come from there. There is a wooden fence between, overgrown with the spring clematis, and I'm guessing a small frog could get through. But there is no water in our garden. There are nice cool shady places though.
The first pea plants were eaten by the slugs so badly in one night that I had to buy some more - and I also got some of these which really did seem to keep the slugs and snails away from the new ones, and will just dig in when the peas are finished.
There are six gladi bulbs there and all have grown, but so far only two have developed flower spikes - I keep watering them, gave them some food a couple of times, and hoping the others will follow.
Ailsa next door has a fish pond in her back garden - and until this time all frog spotting has been in our back garden - this was at the front, but it would be only about 10m from her pond with an easy path.
It took me a couple of minutes to persuade him to hop the metre or so that would take him back under the hedge between the houses - silly frog!
