Identify that plant...

I think I have identified the pink clematis. I watched Gardeners' World this morning whilst I ate breakfast, and there was a section on clematis. The presenter showed a very familiar one - many of the striped pale and deep pink flowers were simple ones, but some on the same plant had multiple layers, it does well in shady places... Call me Doubting Thomas but after googling images of Bee's Jubilee clematis, it has a much more defined stripe down the middle of each petal and is not as beautifully ruffled as yours is.

Ah - but the reason I think it may be the right one is that most of the flowers, as they have opened, don't look much like that first one, but more as they have looked in the past - so this picture was taken a couple of hours ago, and it really is the same plant -

Now this is very interesting for me! Because your clematis has indeed transformed in the way it looks. Yes, you do have a good reason to think that is your clematis! I wish I knew more about botany and plant genetics but I don't.

Isn't it interesting! On my other two clematis all the flowers stay the same, but this one has me slightly perplexed :)

It is a bit strange - only some of the flowers look like that, and the rest are much simpler - it is rather beautiful either way, though!

The later blooms are not quite as spectacular, but still pretty.

I've just taken a couple more where the blooms are slightly less spectacular - but is still a rather extravagant flourish of Barbie Pink in a shaded corner!
