If you like the sort of stuff above - Go get the Poppy Z. Brite book "Drawing Blood". It is exactly like the sort of stuff you wrote above, including with two beautiful gay boys. It's not fantasy, its USUALLY in the fiction section but sometimes gets nudged over to horror.
I'd recommend amazoning it, as book stores rarely carry her work.
I bet you would LOVE Poppy Z. Brite.

Exellent work, though considering the morning I've had, I hope you didn't give my UE any weird ideas. ;P

The one in my room is an irritated piece of shit that enjoys giving me an ulcer when it notices I'm not nearly neurotic enough. From flinging my keys all the way to the top of my bookshelves to throwing my clean clothes to the floor while I'm taking a shower to basically fucking up everything it can. I call it ED in Spanish, for "Entidad Desconocida", UE in English, "Unknown Entity."
But he's generally just a motherfucker BITCH which I'm going to exorcise one of this days.

My mind keeps skipping forward to how Alfons deals with Al, who is still this interloper, and yet hurting Al hurts Ed, and Alfons doesn't want to hurt Ed. I see him somehow trying to rationalize Al's existence, and try to shoehorn Al into some Alfons acceptable purpose.

And yeah, I think Alfons lets Al live because if nothing else, Al is what Alfons is holding over Ed's head here XD; I would like to think that Ed's native will is strong enough to fight off the possession eventually, but he won't as long as he's worried about Al...

I can really grasp that Edward, realistically, has simply accepted Alfon's passing and the 'not belonging'/not being his original self as easily as he had done with Sloth in the series. So I can completely see this as being an accurate side of him.
However...I'm somehow rooting for Alfons' continued existance and mellowing from the initiatial desperation-driven persona of vengefulness.
