Remus had been deeply into a old book about herbs and potions when Sirius had approached. he had his reading glasses on, looking more tattered then ever. he was skinny and pale, with a few rather fresh looking wounds on his exposed arm.
When Sirius spoke he jerked, dropping the book with a big clatter, instantly drawing his wand and pointing it at Sirius. Remus was dressed as a muggle. A nice tan shirt together with faded jeans. His eyes were wide and blue, nose flaring. "Sirius?" he said, a stunned.
His heart made a leap, blood rushing through his body, yet draining from his face. He swayed a bit, not quite believing what he was seeing. But Sirius was dead! he saw Sirius fall through the portal himself! He...
"Sirius..." he chocked, hand beginning to shake. "Y-your boggart is... is Azkaban..." His eyes watered, tears sliding down his face. "W-what is mine?" 'This had to be polijuice potion. It had to be. Dont get your hopes up, Remus.' he thought.
Sirius took in Remus' appearance. How very odd to see Remus in Muggle clothes. At least he managed it better than some witches and wizards. He'd always thought that Muggle attire should be added to the Muggle Studies course. Dressing oddly in Muggle clothes was as attention getting as appearing in robes.
At the other's response, he lowered his wand hesitantly. 'Yours is... a... full-moon,' he said softly. He drew a shuddering breath. But still... how could he be certain?
'How did I escape Hogwarts, the night I was to receive the Dementors' Kiss?' he asked. Only a handful of people knew that. Ronald Weasely and his parents, Sirius' godson, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Rubeus Hagrid, Professor Dumbledore, and Remus. If Remus knew the answer, Sirius would allow himself to trust this man. For he knew that none of those who knew how would ever give up the secret, even under the cruciatus curse. He held his breath and waited, looking into the other man's eyes.
"Buckbeak." he replied, swallowing several times. "Buckbeak flew you out. Harry, Ron and Hermione saved him and used him to save you..." he pressed his hand to his mouth, lowering his wand shakily. He had heard of the dead being able to come back in this place, but he had never... never imagined that Sirius would come back.
"Y-You died..." he stammered. "You died... How..." he felt his cheek shiny and wet with tears. "Sirius.." he could not speak any more. He took a few hesitant steps towards the other.
Sirius' arms hung limply at his side, 'Remus...' he whispered. He put his wand away, and stepped forward, embracing the other man tightly. 'I did die. I don't know what happened. I stayed nearby, watching things go on. Then one day, I woke up. I was alive again. I have no idea how. I was afraid is was some form of dark arts, some new trick that Voldemort had discovered. Maybe he'd come back, or perhaps some Death Eater had taken over for him.
'I woke up with my wand, these clothes, and this parchment...' He showed Remus the paper with the unfamiliar handwriting. 'Whoever it was knows that I'm an animagus. I was hit on the head while I was still Padfoot. Probably a squib... maybe a Muggle. I wasn't cursed...' He was rambling, trying to accept that not only was he alive, but he was back with Remus.

'Where is this place?' he asked after a moment.
