Jack had, quite frankly, been having a nap. So what if early evening was an odd time to be napping - he was a busy guy and if this was his first chance to sleep in quite some time, he was going to take it!

That didn't stop him tumbling automatically out of bed at the sound of a knock on his door and padding barefoot to the door. He was dressed only in t-shirt, trousers and braces, and his hair was quite adorably ruffled.

He yawned as he opened the door - a yawn that turned to distinct suprise, and then to an even more distinct leer. "Well, well," he drawled, looking his visitor up and down lewdly. "Can't say I expected to get a visit from Batman!"

"Few ever do, and yet here I am," Batman replied with a grin. Not the most subtle fellow he had ever met. Dick would have preferred to have gotten that sort of greeting from one of the ladies he had met earlier, but he would take his flattery where he could get it.

"I just arrived and I was told that you were the one people looked to for leadership around here, so I hoped we could talk about how I could help. Do you have some time?"

Sorry, give me a moment to wake up properly and I'll try and fill you in on everything." He grinned a bit shamefacedly, and turned towards a side table holding a thermos flask and a couple of mugs. "Can I offer you some coffee - er - Bruce? Can I call you Bruce? 'Batman' feels a bit formal."

Dick came into the room, and looked around subtly for exits and potential weapons, more out of habit than genuine concern. He was caught off guard for a second by Jack's casual mention of Bruce's name, so to stall for time to think, he said, "Coffee would be great, thanks. I take it black, no sugar. Unless the coffee here is really bad and you think sugar would be a good idea ( ... )
