I've never really noticed before how lovely this meadow is in this early-morning light. Why is that? To lie out in the dewy grass as night gives way to day… how have I never noticed that there is nothing else quite so splendid in all the world

I guess he's lucky he got shot in the chest and fell backwards. How much more would it suck to bleed to death and the only thing you can see is the dirt?
